Yuya's apartment is on the back street.
Next to the exit there are two large plated garbage buckets.

裕也のアパートは裏通りにある。
出口の横に大きなメッキのごみバケツが二つある。
裏から周り表通りに出れる。
愛着ある歩道がある。
横には、しばしば車が通る。
１００メートルぐらい東に進むと曲がり角がある。
赤レンガの古いアパートが立ち並んでいる。
その隣に白い漆喰（しっくい）の壁に十字架をあしらった教会がる。
朝、礼拝の時間には鐘が鳴る。
（ここの鐘の音だったんだ）
あれから、裕也は日曜日は、教会に行くようになった。
その鐘の音が合図である。
裕也は、今日も礼拝に参加していた。
神父さんの講義は一通り終わった。
食事がでる時間である。
「ヘイ。裕也。皆の食事を早く運んでください」神父アドウェは、こ慣れたように話しかけて命令した。
「まじですか。俺ですか？」裕也は、気安く返事した。
「わたし日本語はわかりません。早く。早く。裕也早く」神父アドウェは、裕也の英語をちゃかした。
「はい。はい」裕也はいやいや返事した。しかし、内心は親元から離れて異国の地で信頼できる親しい人が出来たことは嬉しかった。
「裕也。二度返事は、いけませんね」神父アドウェは、軽くいなした。
「裕也。早くしてください」メンディアも急かした。
メンディアは、この地域の地主のお嬢さんです。
昔、この地域は悪魔と天使が戦ったと言われている。
今でも、教会だけが信仰されている様にみえるが、街には闇があった。
メンディアの家は、キリスト教をメンディアに幼いときから信仰させた。
彼女の父は教会にお金をも援助をしていた。
メンディアは、お金も大切だと思ったが、行動も大切だと奉仕活動をしていた。
彼女は主の行動を学ばなければ意味が無いと言って、いつも教会で働いている。
みんなは、光の女神（光女）とさえ思っていた。
「配り終わりました。」裕也は、作業が終わったことを伝えた。
「ありがとう。裕也」メンディアは、感謝して返事した。
（なんで、俺は女性に弱いんだろ。
　でも、ちょっと嬉しい）裕也は、気分が良くなった。
