Chapter 1 "Full Moon Night"

Everyone gathers at the church and is practicing hymns.
There is a piano on the stage. A hot woman with a strong faith is playing.

Father Adwe is in command.
Nuns are lined up in a row in front of it. There are also ordinary women.
Mendia does not participate for some reason. 

She sits in the audience and looks at it.

教会に集まって、みんなが賛美歌さんびかの練習をしている。
段上には、ピアノがある。信仰心の篤あつい女性が弾いている。
女性は、手入れもするらしい。
弾はずむような清々しい音がしている。
（良い音色だ）
アドウェ神父は指揮をしている。
その前に一列に修道女が並んでいる。一般の女性もいる。
メンディアは、何故か参加しない。
客席に座って見ている。
男性は裕也一人である。
一番遠い向かって右端の位置に裕也は立っている。
「裕也。だめだめ。
　主は、宇宙に住んでいます。
　その宇宙に響き渡るように声をだしてください。
　もう一回」
アドウェ神父は、タクトを振り裕也を激励する。
「神に捧げん。
　我が神子をぉぉおお」
（デカイ声なら誰にも負けないぞ。
　腹の底から声を出すんだ。
　ようし。主が宇宙に居おわしますなら私の声を全宇宙に響き渡らせるましょう）
裕也は意気込んだ。
　　：
「我ら。主に従う。主よ」

「はい。そこまで。
　裕也。よかったよ。特に最後のほうが。元気がいっぱい出ていた」
アドウェ神父は喜んでいた。

「はい。ありがとうございます」
（調子が出てきた。今からが良いとこなのに）
裕也はお辞儀おじぎをした。
（何だか歌が終わるのが名残惜しい。俺。歌手に成れる？そんな訳はないか）

「やれば、出来るですね」
メンディアは、裕也の肩を叩き、彼を思い切りからかった。

「ひどいなぁ」
裕也は笑った。

「痛い」
メンディアは、少し声を出したが、その声を押し殺した。
彼女は、口を手で押さえて隠した。

「どうしたの？」
裕也は、心配そうに彼女の顔を見つめた。

彼女は、しぶしぶ左の手のひらをひらいて見せた。赤いしみが出来ていた。
「裕也にだけだよ。秘密にしてね。
　神の使いの印。だから痛くない」
メンディアは、小声だがかたくなに言った。

キリストが十字架に掛けられた時、彼女はキリストの手に刺された杭の痛みと思っている。
でも、イエス様には、痛みは無かった。そう信じる。
なぜなら、民衆はどうか分からないが、神様が許しているからである。
民衆の痛みを感じるのは主であって、主は民衆に痛みを感じさせない。
不思議なことが起こるのは、信仰の世の常である。

「なら良いけど」
裕也は、考え深げでいた。

教会で、裕也は、いろいろ学んだ。聖書に書かれている主の本当の慈愛。
宇宙に主はいるんだ。いつも見つめている。全宇宙に響くようにだ。
教会は活気づいていた。
みんなも、裕也の声を聞き元気がでると言う人もいるくらいである。
だが、平穏な日々も長くは続かない。

次の日曜日に事件は起こる。
