--⑫Friend hidden in darkness--

Yuya and his friends were surrounded by beasts.
The beast is covered in fur, carries a large flame, and stands on two legs.

Eje was thinking about the meaning of those words.
The beast grabbed Yuya with a "clack".

The demon woman hugs Aeje and sheds her tears.
Eje was surprised.

The demon woman answered.

Eje was confused.
The demon woman said further.

Eje doesn't understand why, but she has a fond memory.

Yuya got off the exit from the plaza and was taken deep into the cave.

0031_魔物の誤解⑫（闇に潜む味方）裕也日記

裕也たちは、周りを獣に囲まれていた。
獣は毛皮を被り大炎を持ち二本足で立っている。
（人？）裕也は思った。
（何？ごくろうって？どう言う意味？）
エジェは、先ほどの言葉の意味を考えていた。
獣は裕也を「ガシッ」と捕まえた。
裕也「エジェ。メンディア。飛べ。」
裕也は必死で獣たちを抑えた。
２人は空に飛び上がった。
４つの出口が見える。
獣は中央に集まって裕也を押さえていた。
彼らは、目的は達したかのようで追って来る気配はない。
（こっち。こっち。）
「心の声？」エジェは心の声を感じた。
一つの出口に魔者の少女が立って手招きしている。
（信じてみる。メンディア。私と同じ感じがする。）
エジェはメンディアの手を取りその出口に向かって飛んだ。
それを見て少女は奥に走り出した。
（こっちよ。こっちよ。）
２人は出口を出て走りながら少女の後ろに降り立った。
「こっち。エジェね。私はあなたを見張ってたの。
　理由は、分かっているから大丈夫です。」
謎の魔物の少女は答えた。

少女はエジェと同じ鱗（うろこ）の体をしていた。
（あなたは、私を知ってるのね。）エジェは、確認した。
（安全なの？罠？エジェ？あなたは裕也を罠にはめたの？）
メンディアは、エジェに尋ねた。
いくつもの小広場があり、いくつもの出口があり、階段がり、洞窟がある。
３人は駆け抜けた。奥へ奥へ。
広い畑に出た。
（こんなところに畑がある。そこを青い光が照らしている。）
メンディアは、不思議そうに眺めた。
「もう少し進んで、ここを抜ければ私たちは安全です。」
少女は言った。

畑には獣人がいたが私たちに無関心である。

そして、小広場、出口、階段、洞窟。
その洞窟の一つに飛び込んだ。
扉が「ガチャ」っと閉まる。
「無事でよかった」
「会えて嬉しい。」
女性の声がした。

「エジェ。お帰り。」
魔物の女性はエジェを抱きしめ涙を流す。
エジェは驚いた。
「誰？あなたは？」
魔者の女性は答えた。
「お母さんよ。あなたの生みの親よ。」
「でも。わたしは人間の子よ。」
エジェは戸惑った。
魔者の女性は、更に言う。
「あなたは、ここで生まれたのよ。
　私の子です。」
エジェは、訳が分からないが、こみ上げてくるものがある。
「ほんとうに、お母さんなの？」
「そう」魔物の女性は、「ぎゅつ」と一段と強く抱きしめる。
エジェも涙が出てきた。
「おかあさん。」
二人は確り（しっかり）抱きしめ合った。
そして、暫（しばらく）くして、魔物の女性は、エジェの出生を話し始める。
「私の名はカリーネと言います。
　あれは、１３年前の出来事です。
　魔像。エトランダァーは告げた。　　
　今日、南と北に流れ星があった。
　これは、神が降臨する兆しだ。
　我らの主、アクティス、サンディアが地に降り立ったのだ。
　我らは、準備をしなければならない。
　我らは、探しださねばならぬ。
　カリーネ。あなたは、子供を生むのだ。
　そして、その子を街に送り出す。
　一週間後の満月の夜に南の流れ星が示した土地のウッドスクの街の井戸にその子を捨てるのだ。
　そして、我らの神を探し出し連れ帰らせよ。
　そうとエトランダァーは告げた。」
　「一週間後に、エジェ、あなたは生まれたのです。」
　　そして、私はソースの印のペンダントを添えて、
　　お告げを実行しました。」
　「エジェ。あなたは、ペンダント持ってない？」
「あ。持ってる。」エジェは答えた。
カレーネは、喜んだ。
「エジェ。私の子。帰って来た」
エジェは、初めて呼ぶ。
「ママ。」
魔者の女の子は言う。
「エジェ。私が姉。エナよ。うふ」
「ほんとうに？」エジェは感激した。本当の家族が生まれたのである。

３人の再会。それは、メンディアの心も暖かくした。
だが、そんな場合では無い。
エジェが役目を果たした換わりに、裕也は、囚われたのだ。

裕也は獣に押さえつけられていた。
彼は、エジェとメンディアが逃げれたのを見て抵抗をやめた。
（どうにでもなれ。）
獣は、像の前に裕也を座らせた。
祭司らしい男いる。彼は獣人ではないが、顔が黒ずんで目が輝いている。
「エトランダァー。私は彼をどうすれば良いのですか？」
祭司は、像に聞いた。
エトランダァーは、答えた。
「あなたは彼の本当の姿を現わさせるのだ。」
祭司は、裕也に頼んだ。
「私たちに本当の姿を見せてくれ。」
「これが俺だ」裕也は、言い放った。
「彼は、痛みを与えれば本当の姿を見せるはずだ。
　彼を連れて行て拷問するが良い。」
エトランダァーは、次の行動を指示した。
裕也は、広場の出口を降り、洞窟の奥の奥と連れていかれた。
暗い。蝋燭（ろうそく）一本の炎が灯る奥へ入る。
そして、彼は両手首に鉄錠をはめられる。
体はつま先立ち。
背中を向けられ、
「バシィ」彼は鞭（むち）で打たれる。
（うぅん。うう。んん。）
彼は、歯を食いしばり耐える。
「バシィ。バシィ。バシィ。…」
彼の背中に鞭の痕（あと）がつき、血がにじみ出る。
「バシィ。バシィ。バシィ。」
彼は、何回も気絶しそうに成ったか。
（俺は、何をしたんだ？）
彼の意識が消える。
（もう、どうにでもなれ。主よ。）
「がく。」
裕也は、気を失った。
それでも、獣は、鞭で彼を叩く。
「ギュゥン」
次元が移動する。
サンディアの声がする。
（俺の罪は、終わった。）
獣は、必死で鞭を振り回す。しかし、鞭は彼に当たらない。
「ギュゥン。ギュゥ。ギュゥ。…」
いくら振っても彼に当たらない。
獣の次元が変わる。
獣は、床に頭を打ち気絶した。

裕也の目が開く。その目は青黒く。髪が白髪になっていた。

エジェの再会は、みんな嬉しかった。当然、メンディアもである。
しかし、裕也はどうなったのであろう。
エジェは、裕也を連れて来る役目のためだけに、生んだ親から離された。
（あぁ。裕也を助けなきゃ。）
エジェはメンディアの目を見る。
メンディアの目は潤（うる）んで、「裕也を助けてほしい」と叫んでいた。
その時、彼女の手のひらを痛みが走る。
（いたい。）（強烈な痛みがする。）
「エジェ。痛みの元の呪う子を探しに行きましょう。
　まず、それから。」
メンディアは、言った。
「私は、呪う子を知っているよ。」
エジェの姉のエナは言った。

エジェら三人は、部屋を出た。
「こっち。こっち。こっち。」
エナは２人を誘導する。
彼女らは、部屋を出て右に曲がる。
黒い洞窟（どうくつ）が続く、岩肌に緑の苔（こけ）がついている。
そして、鍾乳洞（しょうにゅうどう）が上から突き出ていた。
水が落ちてくる。
「ポタ。ポタ。ポツン。」
暗く暗く、地底に入って行く感じがする。
その奥に仄（ほの）かな灯りが見える。
「誰かいる。」エジェが言う。
「ここが呪う子の部屋よ。」エナは答えた。
その中には３人の黒い影がある。
彼女らは、左手に光るものを持っている。
「キラ。キラ。キラ。」彼女らの手が光る。
彼女らは段々近づいて来る。
真ん中の子の右手には、２つの足の人形を重ねて持っている。
右側の子は、右手の人形を持っている。
左側の子は、左手の人形を持っている。
人形に見えたものは茶色の像である。
光るもの。それは、短刀であった。
「エジェ。お帰りなさい。」

「エジェ。無事に良く家に帰り着いたね。」呪いの子は挨拶した。
彼女は、右手の形の像に剣で突きたてた。
「ギリギリ」
「うぅぅ」メンディアが唸（うな）る。
「像が傷つかない。
　う。
　なぜ、像は傷つかないの？」
呪いの子は、必死で像を突きさす。
「イエス様は、呪いなんかに負けないわよ。
　うう。」メンディアは応戦するが、痛みは消えない。
「なぜ。なぜ。
　小娘に痛みを与えても、そのぐらいではしかたない。」
呪いの子は、殺意に満ちていた。
「エジェ。
　あなたなら出来るはずよ。
　像を突き刺して、傷つけてよ。
　これは、聖なる試練なのよ。
　そうするのが、私たちの役目。」
エジェは、考えた。
（少し前の私と同じ。）
（そう、前までの己の姿。彼女らは運命を恨んでいる。）
（そうだ。私と血の縁を結べば変わるかもしれない。）
「分かった。私が聖なる試練を達成する。
　ただ、儀式に参加するには、あなたたちは、私の血を飲まんければいけない。」
「うふ。美味しそう。分かった。」呪いの子は了承した。


エジェは、呪いの子から剣を受け取って、小指を少し傷つけた。

彼女は、呪いの子の口に血を垂らし念じる。
（裕也。私に力を貸してください。そして、彼女らに私と血の縁を結ばせてください。）

「あ　ぁ　ぁ　グォォ」
呪いの子の体が青い炎に包まれる。
（ジュワー）体全身が蘇生する感覚が走る。
「エジェ。何をしたの？」
呪いの子の体は、肌色の皮膚に覆われ、
普通の肌にもどり、目の光が収まった。
「解放の時が来たのよ。」エジェは言い放った。
呪いの子は、普通の肌になり笑顔がこぼれる。
「私たちは解放されたのですか？
　試練の役目は達成されたのですか？」
「あなた方の役目は終わりよ。」エジェは宣言した。
青い３つの光が浮かび上がり、エジェの右手に着いた。
